India- Glowing ya Burning???????

I had penned this in 2007; much river has flown and my HATE quotient on present day state of affairs in India is HIGH. India in 21st century- the path it chooses is history in reckoning It’s been some time since I made up my mind to pen an article about my favorite subject, ‘India’. It’s always a gigantic effort on one’s part to encompass a mighty giant in one article. Looking at the pace at which Indian economy is growing which is a commendable 9.2% at the end of second quarter 2006-2007 and its purchasing power parity is fourth largest in the world [1] . It’s got a lot of dressing up to be done for the final round of the world pageant; i.e. to be crowned the economic and social superpower. Politically India is on sound footing where its electoral system is unmatchable even with US’s flawed voting system as highlighted during Bush’s presidency polls. Taking this as a step stone the bold initiatives of election commission is highly critical as it oversees an important e...

What has made Indian Public more confused.

India seems to be on an overdose of news and happenings never before. There we classify an era by a major event which has shaken the very fabric of Indian Psyche. Like Emergency, Rama Janmabhoomi, Godhra, Naxalite Blasts, 2G Spectrum, Hawala, Chandraswami, Bofors, Mandal Commission, JP Movement, Phenomenan like Sachin, and much more................but the public is going through an overide all of a sudden with making questions needing a compulsory answer rather than a convenient PASS option. Kudankulam, Mullai Periyar and Tamil Eelam- issues which stare at Tamilnadu people; Mullai Periyar, Continuing apathy to Industry, growing Islamic fundamentals- Kerala; Telangana, YSR's biggest pain to Congress Jagan, Late Rajasekhar's big scandal- Andhra; Karnataka- Porngate, Yedyurrappa- why appa, Mining mafia continues the list of never ending saga of Pharoahs. Why has all of sudden the ever swindling Political babus out open in public? has our people woken to fact that its the...

Srilanka Bleeds- Indo-Rama is not around

Rama has deserted Lanka for once and the last time- screams my conscious mind as I hold C Rajagopalachari’s Ramayana and Raj Dharma. What has gone completely wrong is India’s response to this crisis and many more unfolding around it. India’s decision making body is surrounded by Praetorian democrats with round the clock motive being their paeans sung by low class people. A person sleeps peacefully without even knowing there are corpses being piled upon pile like sacks of rotten rice from a war fought with one being a protector and other being a devil. The devil now stands to gain much sympathy than the aggressor. The aggressor, Srilankan Army has put all its might in this last mile or stretch to encircle the Tiger and bring it to knees a 40 year old curse over Srilankan polity. Understandable not a day goes by without a suicide attack siren or rumor and not a day without a widow made out of its ideological struggle. But the psyche of Srilankan army has gone overboard by such an extent ...

BCCI & Cricket ! this is BIG Joke

what has this body done to further the cause of a game which is played by 22 individuals at one point of time and watched by a mutiple of 1X10 to the power of 10 people glued to their Government sponsored Television sets all see telly for the future.................................YES definitely it has got enough Balls sorry eye balls gluing to Sachin & Co; Indian youth is out slogging to become, 'Yaaru Adutha Tendulkar' and even cine stars figuring to cash in one our demi-gods name. If 100 billion hearts long to become a cricketer and the Professional approach of Non-government Babudom less attitude of BCCI trying to further the game; then why have we not produced a single complete genuine batting genius after Gavaskar/ Sachin/ Sehwag/ Kohli????????? still licking his hands at prospect of fairness cream ads and mint through flash cameras than being a perfect Indian cricket icon. Or a fast bowler of Kapil or Javagal Srinath's fame; let alone the media craze & bit re...

Raj Dharma..........What has gone awry

India can take great pride in its heritage for many reasons which have lost relevance in modern times....................relevance per se from a Human point of view be it his weakness of mind or non application of a Dharma. Never can a Raj Dharma be irrelevant for a administrator from a moral execution point of view. A perspective- a city councillor is starting his day in his ward by a walk. While in his walk he comes across huge pile of un-collected watse from various houses stinking and rotting away; with stray animals shoving and punching things all over the place. Now he gets back to his office looks at the roster of person incharge and gets back to the place with person incharge and gets it cleaned. A job well done. A job even well done when he enquires the reason behind the pile up and cautions or provides a earful to resolve this glitch so that tomorrow citizens are spared the stench. Why this Story? ' Jayalalitha deputes Advocate General to rightfully justify the shifting o...

Arundhati Roy- heavenly body on a earthy India

The below link was published in a region centric, oldschool thought & one side aligned newspaper about Jan LokPal and phenomenan Anna. The Link below where she dwells in detail- http://www.thehindu.com/opinion/lead/article2379704.ece I would like to counter as much to my knowledge on how her argument fails to grasp the popular sentiment and her idea of corportization of even fasts 1. She belittles the idea of protesting against the evils in society- yes one needs to debate which is bigger evil- communalism, naxalism, corporate cronyism, bureaucratic excesses, unequal spread of wealth- all well said but does she have a magic wand which we are now asking Dr. Singh??????????????????. Aruna Roy, Medha Patkar, many more have taken to streets for justice why havent they been able to create a magic? Mallika Sarabhai, a danseuse and critic against Modi stood for elections why has she lost? is she corrupt? Why has people stopped voting in large numbers in Urban India when rural people thro...

My First Click................electing my leader

Wow what a relief i felt since i heard the beep go, i was in no mood to let go the button. My intentions are all clear and set; Vote out the corrupt/ infantile/ nepotism ridden/ Parochial government ruling just to make people lazy and a shade worse than a working person's characteristics. Ever since they were voted for power their intentions have become clearer each passing day. I stay in suburban Chennai and the roads and overflowing garbage is bygone stink with it story, beautifying places which are not habitated and neglecting residential areas is a serious problem with government management. I was intended to vote for change to Sarath Babu's or Dr. JP's party but didnt find their candidates in my place. Hence opted for lesser evil in fray; atleast the next govt. begins pain test for the previous regime. Atleast someone shows the previous regime its rightful place.
