Gods smile on human vermins

Its no mean feat to get drenched more than 24 hours in Monsoon rains....................Chennai has witnessed one such phenomenon starting yesterday 8th November 2015 till date 9th November 2015, 1.00pm. I am thrilled beyond my out of world imagination to see such downpour. Its been years since I have seen raining like cats and dogs. True I am oblivious to innumerable potholed roads, unthinkable gaping manholes ready to devour me and unsuspecting live wires snaking through in the flooded streets. If life has to go in these dangers let be it, who can stop before which I like to pen my heartfelt joy of this bountiful rain. be it the soaked smell of the vegetation, scurrying small animals from the incessant rains, and the sounds of spattering rain from roofs, tin awnings, trees and window sills. The air is so moist that even the floor we thread on is chill, the need to frequent loo is more a pain in this season and yet enjoyable. Our building has even begun to show water seep...

Cauvery- a river flowing on polarized inflamed passions

Poor Cauvery/ Kaveri in which ever name called is held hostage to caste/creed/ colour/ language and much more innumerable reasons a man can find to keep the water away from thirsty standing crops in the downstream and thirsty human throats of IT capital Bengaluru and Automotive capital Chennai. This is not to state the greediness of one state Karnataka or the over zealousness of another state Tamilnadu. My interest in Cauvery was kindled by Mr. Arupathi Kalyanam a farmer who has seen the lows and highs of the Cauvery dispute brings out a perspective on the whole issue. First and foremost accords and agreement are signed at the amicable satisfaction of both parties which has been happening since the dam was built and under British the agreements were inked.
