Srilanka Bleeds- Indo-Rama is not around

Rama has deserted
Lanka for once and the last time- screams my conscious mind as I hold C Rajagopalachari’s
Ramayana and Raj Dharma. What has gone completely wrong is India’s response to
this crisis and many more unfolding around it.

India’s
decision making body is surrounded by Praetorian democrats with round the clock
motive being their paeans sung by low class people. A person sleeps peacefully without
even knowing there are corpses being piled upon pile like sacks of rotten rice
from a war fought with one being a protector and other being a devil.

The devil
now stands to gain much sympathy than the aggressor. The aggressor, Srilankan
Army has put all its might in this last mile or stretch to encircle the Tiger
and bring it to knees a 40 year old curse over Srilankan polity. Understandable
not a day goes by without a suicide attack siren or rumor and not a day without
a widow made out of its ideological struggle. But the psyche of Srilankan army
has gone overboard by such an extent that they have gleefully crushed every
single soul found wanting to be crushed without even validating if he or she
was a Tiger men.

Its total
frustration orchestrated precision in eliminating the entire brass of Tiger
men; what has brought out in open is a festering wound of hatred towards Tamil
community in Sri Lanka. Many centuries ago Tamils crossed over in seeking greener
pastures for livelihood. This process of integration must have begun long back
which did not happen, India with its new found strength as a rising asian gaint
has serious misplaced priorities. Central policy never spelt a clear cut plan
to intervene in Srilankan crisis even when Prabhakaran was said to have freely
roamed streets of Chennai and south districts under the support of MG
Ramachandran. If a single regional party can take in a international issue
single handedly then central leadership has failed to realize the magnitude of
the connect among Tamil populace in Tamilnadu over Tamil issue. With consequent
corrupt regimes with no-brainer policies have made the waters more muddled with
personal agendas and petty politics. The petty politics has taken such an ugly
turn that thalaivars have totally forgotten the Bad roads greetings them
everyday/ more no. of hours power shortage when exams are few days away/
corruption in government systems driving poor people to become poorer still and
they are shedding crocodile tears for people in Srilanka.

Loudest
jingoism will be reserved for Y Gopalaswamy and some cine artists who feel left
out of this commotion or re-instating their importance in wading political
career. What have we done after the end of Srilanka war? lest we visited the
camps and offered much needed re-assurance to those captured ethnic Tamil
communities? NO. At least censure the Srilankan administration into bringing
the war crimes criminal to justice......................... Yes LTTE is no
saint for the acts of vengeance enacted by them over 30 long years is by far
the cruel and inhuman. But never shall justice take centre stage when law
enforcer goes about perversely beating dead corpses of LTTE cadres/ taking
trophy images of their beheaded skulls/ and untold and many more horrors.

India’s
foreign policy needs to take more pragmatic approach in involving tamil leaders
and Srilankan government to integrate their Tamil citizens.

US can
always be used in the butt of most jokes but when it comes to respecting its citizens
and taking care of their people, it’s second to none. Such should be the
attitude of present Srilankan government. India’s high moral pride is more grounded
than ever before with mute silence towards the events which unfolded in many
months. I say you are no more Rama but atleast emulate the ideals of Gandhi and
other great leaders when it comes to raising voice against the criminal intent
of Srilankan government- segregating people of Tamil dominated areas; refusing
basic facilities and still treating them like second class citizens.

Standing
united and voting for the UN resolutions atleast makes the Srilankan
administration a party to crime it vitiated on its people next do not feel let
down if China takes over the Srilankan strategic priorities. China is itself
caught in a battle of see enemy everywhere syndrome and not long before it gets
pulled down by its enormous dragon weight. India must begin to assert its voice
against the cruel intentions of any player in the world. Stop playing Blind
with the people.
