FDI in Indian Psyche- a demon or an opportunity?

Why the media & pundits are getting it wrong on reforms and politics splashed on the The Economic Times e-Newspaper on 21st September 2012; written by a faithful Opposition leader Yashwanth Sinha. Yes the article was very well structured which had the points which would make ruling party's decision look very opportunistic and ridden of any logic at times of economic slowdown and continued strain on WPI from various factors.

All the qualities of an opposition leader at centre but certainly lacks the sincere approach to the issue at hand. If as stated by Yashwanth Sinha that the decision smacks of complete stupidity least said because why at fag end of a government's tenure? I would say decisions have to be made and should be taken when ever the time arrives; UPAII has completely lost the plot in its second tenure for various reasons chief being their allies and own partymen's misadventure in 2G and Coal scam. India as Anna Hazare says does not have a strong Corruption deterrent laws hence this continued saga of sordid corruption.

Now presuming Congress has set aside all issues and actually took to governing country; this decision would be termed most appropriate or worthy of debate than its last 3 years of refuting and counter challenging the corruption allegations.

BJP as a responsible opposition has done its job of gheraoing Parliament in last 3 years well; but when the Govt. actually feels like doing its work its Dharma asks it to debate and convince a average middle class man of the demerits of the FDI decisions than acting like a recalcitrant child in a class room.

If Yashwant Sinha is seriously seething with anger and taking a stance more reserved for Leftist parties kindly justify his parties growth in states like Gujarat, Bihar, supposed investment plans in Madhya Pradesh through a MNC consulting firm. What has happened to its common sense or sense of betrayal of common man in these states. Chhattisgarh was literally raped of its resources by both national parties where as his his of betrayal of people gone?

Gujarat has shown remarkable progress not because Modi has pursued a policy of aam Aadmi but a policy of FDI; his trade shows in overseas markets and even in Gujarat are well attended and commended; where has Sinha's common man logic gone.

yes its True Sonia has been a more of a bully than a true progressive leader in her last few years; if she had the will she could have nudged the Govt. to enact these policies long before; its of less significance to debate Sonia's skills and real intent.

But when Dr. Singh steps on the reforms throttle why jam it now, Sinha ji? Rajasthan, Punjab, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh are states which have shown scant regard for proper storage of grains in their Mandis; recent strictures from Country's Highest judicial body says, 'more hungry mouths go unfed when godowns are overflowing with grains and rotting in sun and rain'.

Why hasn't your opposition Dharma take a precedent in question Govt. in strengthening laws on saving most basic right to life- food? you were conveniently placed in your air conditioned office chairing press conferences of least import to aam Aadmi.

Agreed common man would suffer with FDI? tell us how?, you are not a common man; common man is one who earns a daily wage and can look forward to benefit from FDI than contributing towards its. I consider a good FDI decision as one when a common man benefits from downstream activities- like becoming employable in the newly erected warehouses, stock depots, transit of materials, storage capacities, handling of goods and much more.

I personally am facing everyday problems with quality and service. I was the same person who walked into a normal rice shop and found rice beetles swarming all over and then using my vehicle spending extra cost and getting a replacement. where has the conscious for delivering quality produce gone?

I would have been more pleased if you had sat on Dharna for propagating using of Organic and fertilizer free produce or even for Cauvery water in Tamilnadu but certainly feel abject remorse at a issue which you have no connect about?

yes the rules in FDI will have to be debated threadbare in Parliament and put before people the benefits or even the harm inducing effects.

Mamta can afford to take her people for a ride by indulging in street politics; if she had the real intent in doing some good to any kind of policy decision she must have asked her party colleagues to debate issues inside parliament than hold everything to ransom. Her ministerial colleague Amit Mitra is a bugle blower for his employer: earlier with FICCI he blew the conch for MNC's now a minister will blow TMC conch; gone are his ethics and brains for a toss. If Mamta is breaking free from a Matriarchal society of Politics let her do in a way which brings hope in people and society rather than jumping on to streets at a slightest provocation.

Mr. Sinha has to stay focussed till 2014 for just for sake being relevant in Politics. Its similar to a farce committed by Jagdish Tyler goading people to get into voilence at a rally in Orissa. Afterall you all our politicians.

True your statistics on victories and people mood during elections is highly flimsy its because yourself and all other politicians from all parties have made this a 3rd grade movie (Indian polity). Which we educated people rarely talk about or even feel for it.
